Hungry Crow gets the award for ‘Best Emerging Artisan Food Product’

Coconut Caramel produced by Niamh O’Reilly of the Hungry Crow in Clonakilty has been announced as the Overall Winner of the 2016 Listowel Food Fair ‘Best Emerging Artisan Food Product’.

Niamh O’Reilly, working as the Hungry Crow has a passion for making healthy treats. Niamh’s background is in sculptural ceramics and she also worked for ten years in a health food shop. In February 2015 Niamh chose food and making people feel good through food as her new art form. Her Hungry Crow vegan chocolates, raw snack bars and cheesecakes are all Free-From dairy, Free-From grains (including gluten) and as Free-From refined sugars as possible without compromising on taste. And they look as good as they taste.

Hungry Crow sells in select health food shops across West Cork, supplying The Village Hall Vintage Market, Cork City, and trades weekly in Clonakilty and Skibbereen Markets.

With support from her LEO – Local Enterprise Office, Niamh is in the process of moving from her domestic kitchen into a commercial unit. Niamh is looking forward to increasing production and expanding her market reach in 2017. Niamh sincerely thanked the Listowel Food Fair Chairman and festival Committee for awarding her Coconut Caramel the 2016 Listowel Food Fair ‘Best Emerging Artisan Food Product’.

Another winner from West Cork was Rosscarbery Gluten Free White Pudding from Rosscarbery Recipes in the Pates, Meats and Seafood category.
