Make this a November to remember with a trip to Glengarriff. Coming off the heels of the successful A Taste of West Cork Food Festival, Cork’s reputation as a culinary haven is growing and growing.

So, what better place to experience the best food that West Cork has to offer than at Eccles Hotel in Glengarriff? Steeped in over 250 years of history, the likes of WB Yeats, Maureen O’Hara and George Bernard Shaw have all visited the establishment over the years.

On November 17, Eccles Hotel is hosting a special ‘Fur, Feathers and Grapes’ event. Foodies will be able to savour a delicious eight course tasting menu featuring – you guessed it – fur, feathers and grapes! Some of the food that will be featured on the menu will include rabbit rarebit, pigeon breast, pheasant breast, venison haunch and braised shank. Of course, we can’t forget about the grapes. Each course also comes with a pairing wine. The menu will be expertly prepared by Eccles Head Chef Eddie Atwell.

You can stay the night of November 17 at Eccles Hotel in a classic double or twin room for €125 per person sharing. Rate includes an eight course tasting menu, pairing wines with each course and a full Irish breakfast the following morning*.

Whilst you’re there why not relax with a stroll around the picturesque village, where you’ll find wonderful eclectic shops selling local produce.

Alternatively take a walk through Glengarriff Nature Reserve, or marvel at the beauty of the Blue Pool.
