This September, the West Cork Campus is offering a wide range of courses for post-leaving cert students, mature students and individuals, who want to make a career change or pursue further study giving a wide range of options for graduates.

With its supportive learning environment, dedicated teachers, excellent resources, including up-to-date technology, a Jobs Hub and a Student Support Service for those with particular educational needs, this further education college in Skibbereen has a lot to offer. As well as great employment opportunities arising out of the courses, there are extensive and very valuable progression links to UCC, CIT  etc. The college has close links with local employers to ensure that the education and training provision is in keeping with job opportunities in the West Cork region. This is done through the continuous development of new and modification of existing programmes. There is a strong demand enjoyed by graduates of the college, based on the excellent link that the college has with local employers.

The West Cork Campus cooperates with Local Link to provide transport from neighbouring towns, based on student demand. Services from Bantry and Clonakilty to and from the college have been enjoyed by students for the past three years. Other routes are also considered based on demand and availability.

There are a number of new programmes on offer this September including: Business Administration with a choice of two specialisms – Medical Administration or Farm Business, Festival/Event Organiser, Hairdressing, Horticulture, Sports for All and Tourism & Travel Consultant, all at QQI Level 5.  The QQI Level 6 Professional Arts Practice is also being reintroduced.

The Established programmes include: Art, Community Care, Early Childhood Studies, eBusiness, Healthcare, Horticulture at QQI Level 5.  The QQI Level 6 Business is also an excellent programme for any existing holders of business qualifications, who wish to upskill and offers a one-day a week work placement.

The college is equipped with a new Salon suite in order to deliver the QQI Level 5 Hairdressing at the college from September. This course will consist of four days in the college and one day on work placement in a local salon.
