This year’s Clonakilty Bicycle Festival takes place between June 4 and 8, 2014. ClonBikeFest, now in its third year, celebrates and promotes the use and enjoyment of bicycles with events in and around the town. This year’s festival has the fullest programme yet. Alongside established favorites such as ‘The Meals on Wheels Multi-location Dining Experience’ and the ‘The Beach Cycle Yoga Expedition’, will be new events such as ‘The Smart Happy Family Scavenger Hunt’ and the ‘Heritage Cycle Trail’.

ClonBikeFest is about encouraging people to cycle more: for pleasure, for health and for wellbeing. It’s your acoustic motorbike, more ‘cotton’ than ‘lycra’, more about the journey than the destination. Watch out for tandems, ‘high nellies’ and knit-bombed bikes.

In preparation for this year’s festival, cycle along to the Bike Clinic at Clonakilty Market, 10am to 2pm each Friday from May 9, and have your bike checked over by one of the volunteers.

All events are free, except ‘Meals on Wheels’, which has limited tickets and must be booked in advance. The festival is self-financing through the sale of T-Shirts, Tea Towels and Raffle Tickets.
