West Cork Triathlon Club’s ‘Tri na Mona’ sprint triathlon will be held on Saturday, August 20. This race is based at Tragumna beach, just outside Skibbereen, and consists of a swim, which starts in the sea, a bike route of 18.5km through Castletownshend, and a flat out and back run of 5km.

For readers who tried their hand at the fabulous Clonakilty Duathlon, held by West Cork Triathlon Club earlier in the year, Tri na Mona may be the perfect step up to competing in triathlon.

Registration for this event can be done on www.triathlonireland.com until August 10 or at the pub in Tragumna on the evening before or morning of the event.

For all triathlon Ireland registered events, you will either need a racing licence from Triathlon Ireland or a One Day Membership. These can be purchased as you register on www.triathlonireland.com. This licence must be presented at the event at registration – failure to produce your licence will result in you being excluded from the event – so please remember to register well enough in advance.
