Clonakilty AFC season draws to a close

As the season comes to a close, Clonakilty AFC would like to express their thanks and gratitude to all those involved throughout the season, players, supporters, managers/coaches/helpers, and especially parents for that all important taxi service.

The Underage presentation will take place Saturday, May 17 at 11am at the Quality Hotel, Clonakilty.

Clonakilty AGM will be held on May 29 at 8.30pm at Clonakilty Parish Centre. New interested personnel always most welcome.

February saw the annual AFC soccer marathon once again held in the Convent Hall, an event that is enjoyed by all with soccer games running continuously throughout the day. A good turn out and support is greatly acknowledged by the organising committee.

Clonakilty AFC will once again host the ‘AFC Summer Soccer Camp’ from July 16 to 20 at Clonakilty Sports Complex (Cnvnt Astro), age six to 14 years. Brochure an registration forms can be found at local venues around the town, or request a form or any query concerning the Club by email clonakiltyafc1967@gmail.com.

New dressing rooms are now in place at Ballyvackey pitch, members both past and present who made these possible deserve a huge ‘thanks’.

The Cillian McCaffrey Charity Shield tournament organised by Clonakilty AFC played earlier in the year, donated funds collected to Suicide Aware, this group are holding a ‘Dark To Light’ (see posters) and are hoping for volunteers to steward along the route, contact 086 8346912.

Congratulations to u14 player Eoin Houstoun who lined at out earlier this season at his favourite Premier league Club, Tottenham Hotspur. A great occasion one is sure to be held in the memory a long time.
