Clonakilty will once again transform into a vibrant festival hub for the third annual Clonakilty Street Carnival day. Clonakilty Street Carnival 2018 in association with Irish Yogurts will take place on Saturday, June 16 presenting a day of free entertainment for all from 11am until 8.30pm. Clonakilty Street Carnival is delighted to announce a platinum sponsor for this year, Irish Yogurts, Clonakilty. Irish Yogurts, a family run business, was founded in Clonakilty in 1994 by Diarmuid O’Sullivan and the award winning food business has grown from strength to strength.
The Clonakilty Street Carnival, winner of the best West Cork event award, will see the streets of Clonakilty take on a fabulous festival vibe and the town will be fully pedestrianised from 9am until 9pm. Throughout carnival day, amidst the colourful ribbons, bunting, street performers and costumes, will be live music, a kids zone with supervised bouncy castles, face painting, magicians, bubbles and popcorn machines (Ashe Street), as well as giant games, ping pong, crazy golf and much more.
Last year more than 2,000 people were served the best of Clonakilty fare from the town’s top restaurants at one of the longest dinner parties seen in Ireland. The Clonakilty Street Carnival dinner party will run the length of the towns’ main street. Food service commences at 3pm providing €15 euro adult meals and €7 children’s meals. A children’s meal area has been added on Astna Square in the centre of Clonakilty where Clonakiddy meals will be available, as well as free pottery classes for kids.
