One of the most exciting and spectacular weekends in Kinsale this year is The Blue Haven Kinsale Vintage Rally, taking place from May 8 to 11. With over 100 beautiful vintage cars on display over the weekend, it is a fun filled family weekend worth seeing.
Now entering its 26th year, the rally is widely regarded as one of the premier events on the Irish classic car calendar.
Following the twinning of Kinsale with the Welsh town of Mumbles in 1990, Kinsale Vintage and Classic Motor Club decided to twin with the town’s own car club, The Swansea Historic Vehicle Register. Each year sees large numbers of SHVR members make the trip to Kinsale for the May rally, a gesture that is returned each July when the Kinsale club makes a trip to Swansea.
Kinsale Vintage and Classic Motor Club was established in 1988 by a group of classic car enthusiasts. The club has since grown to a current membership of over 100 members who share a common passion – their love of driving and preserving classic cars.
