One of the most exciting and spectacular weekends on the Kinsale events is The Blue Haven Kinsale Vintage Rally, taking place this May 9 to 12. With over 100 amazing vintage cars on display in Kinsale over the weekend, it really is a fun filled family weekend worth seeing.
The launch took place in the main sponsor Blue Haven Hotel in April.
Now entering its 25th year, it is widely regarded as one of the premier events on the Irish classic car calendar.
Following the twinning of Kinsale with the Welsh town of Mumbles in 1990, Kinsale Vintage and Classic Motor Club also decided to twin with the town’s own car club, The Swansea Historic Vehicle Register. Each year sees large numbers of SHVR members make the trip to Kinsale for the May rally, a gesture that is returned each August when the club makes the return trip to Swansea.
Originally established in 1988 by a group of classic car enthusiasts, the club has since grown to a current membership of over 70 members. All members share a common passion –their love of driving and preserving the classic cars of yesteryear.
