After a series of very successful Christmas Concerts in Skibbereen, Kinsale and Cork, the newly relaunched Allegria Concert Orchestra will present ‘An Evening in Vienna’, a glamorous night of music, dance and entertainment at Inchydoney Island Lodge and Spa, Clonakilty on Friday, February 14.

Guests will be treated to a drinks reception on arrival, and after dinner, can relax and enjoy a wonderful evening of entertainment. Waltzes, polkas, marches by the Strauss family will feature, as well as songs from the great Viennese operettas.

Patrons should note that dancing is not essential — for this event is not just a ball — it is also an evening of magnificent vocal music. Tenor Dan Twomey will be joined by sopranos Louise O’Sullivan, Carol Kennedy and Josephine Barry in a selection of romantic Viennese favourites. Demonstration dancers will also add flavor to the occasion with such classics as The Blue Danube, Tales from Vienna Woods and The Emperor Waltz.

All in all, what a perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day and the return of Spring.

Tickets costing €50 include dinner and drinks and are available from the Inchydoney Island Lodge and Spa, phone 023 8833143 or email reservations@inchydoneyisland.com or from Meades Newsagents, Clonakilty.
